Self-Reg-Schulung für Eltern und Betreuungspersonen

Szkolenie self-reg is intended for parents and carers who want to better understand a child’s behaviour and help them cope with tension and strong emotions.

In the self-reg approach, we treat difficult behaviour as information about a child’s needs and overload. Participants learn to notice signs of stress, look for its sources and choose responses that help the child regain calm.

During the sessions, participants learn about:

  • the basic principles of the self-reg approach;
  • different types of stress that can affect a child;
  • signs of overload and how to recognise them;
  • the difference between a child’s behaviour and an unmet need;
  • ways to accompany a child through strong emotions;
  • methods that help reduce tension in everyday situations;
  • the importance of relationships, connection and a sense of safety;
  • ways to support a child in returning to balance;
  • the importance of rest and caring for a parent’s own resources;
  • ways to use the self-reg approach at home, preschool and school.

The sessions are workshop-based. They include short educational segments, discussion, exercises and analysis of situations parents encounter every day. Participants can consider what causes tension for their child and what changes might help the whole family.

The training is not intended to judge parents or excuse every behaviour. It helps them pause before reacting automatically, read the situation more accurately and choose an approach suited to the child’s age and abilities.
