Sercodajni – a project of Fundacja Dla Dobra Dzieci

We are building two complementary places in Tarnów: Dom Startu and the Centre for Assistance to Children and Families.

Sercodajni is a project of Fundacja Dla Dobra Dzieci responding to the real needs of children after trauma, foster and adoptive families, and young adults leaving foster care.

Two parts of one mission

The project combines social assistance, specialist assessment, therapy and long-term guidance. This is more than a one-off aid campaign: it creates a support system from assessment and therapy to a safe place to live and become independent.

Dom Startu

Dom Startu is intended as a safe place for young adults leaving foster care and at risk of homelessness. It is to provide a stable home, safety and support in the transition to independent adult life.

FASystent support after leaving Dom Startu

People diagnosed with FAS who live at Dom Startu will be able to receive support from a FASystent after leaving. The role will be to accompany young adults in areas that may require additional support related to FAS—including organising everyday life, planning, handling matters, building independence and using available assistance.

Support will be adapted to each person’s individual situation and needs. FASystent support, accommodation and meals will be free of charge for Dom Startu residents.

Centre for Assistance to Children and Families

The Centre for Assistance to Children and Families is intended to provide assessment, therapy and support for children with FASD, RAD, PTSD, ADHD and the effects of developmental trauma. Help is to include not only the child, but also the family, school, carers and specialists working with the child.

Why is this project needed?

Children after difficult experiences and young adults leaving foster care often fall into a gap in the system. Some need assessment and therapy; others need a safe place and guidance into adulthood. Many need both forms of help.

What makes Sercodajni different?
