Parenting skills training

This course is for parents and carers who want to understand their children better and handle everyday parenting situations more calmly.

In the sessions, participants explore their relationship with the child, communication and their own reactions. They also discuss setting boundaries without shouting, recognising a child’s needs and supporting them through difficult emotions.

The course can help parents of young children as well as parents of older children and teenagers.

During the sessions, participants learn about:

• sposoby budowania bliskiej i bezpiecznej relacji z dzieckiem;
• zasady dobrej komunikacji w rodzinie;
• aktywne słuchanie i rozmowę bez wzajemnego oskarżania;
• rozpoznawanie emocji dziecka oraz własnych emocji;
• sposoby reagowania na złość, płacz, lęk i wycofanie;
• stawianie jasnych granic z poszanowaniem dziecka;
• konsekwencje i zasady, które pomagają zamiast zaostrzać konflikt;
• wspieranie dziecka w radzeniu sobie z porażką i trudnościami;
• budowanie poczucia własnej wartości dziecka;
• rozwiązywanie konfliktów w codziennych sytuacjach;
• zachęcanie dziecka do współpracy i stopniowej samodzielności;
• dbanie o własne zasoby i ograniczanie przeciążenia rodzicielskiego.

The sessions are workshop-based. Alongside short educational segments, they include discussion, exercises, analysis of everyday situations, and individual and pair work. Participants can relate the topics to their own experience and look for solutions that can work in their family.

The course is not intended to judge parents. Its purpose is to help them better understand their child, their own reactions and situations that often create tension at home.

Organisation

• 10 sessions;
• 3 hours each;
• 30 hours of classes in total;
• a small group;
• workshop-based sessions;
• the option for one or both parents to attend.

Fee

1 person: PLN 600
Couple: PLN 1,000

Participants may register alone or together with the other parent. The fee includes udział w całym cyklu 10 spotkań oraz materiały do pracy.
