Anger and Difficult Emotions Management Training

This training supports children, young people and adults in better understanding anger, tension and other strong emotions. Its aim is not to suppress emotions, but to develop safe ways of recognising, expressing and regulating them.

Who are the sessions for?

They are intended for people who find it difficult to control impulsive reactions, often experience anger or frustration, have outbursts, withdraw or cannot cope in conflict situations. The training can also help when difficult emotions affect family, peer, school or work relationships.

What do participants learn?

  • recognising emotions and signs of increasing tension;
  • noticing situations, thoughts and needs that trigger anger;
  • stopping an impulsive reaction before an outburst;
  • using safe ways to reduce tension;
  • expressing anger and other emotions without hurting oneself or others;
  • communicating needs, boundaries and one’s own opinion;
  • coping with frustration, refusal, criticism and failure;
  • resolving conflicts and anticipating the consequences of one’s behaviour;
  • taking responsibility for one’s reactions and repairing the effects of difficult situations.

How do we work?

The sessions are practical and workshop-based. We use conversation, exercises, role-play, analysis of everyday events and self-regulation strategies. We adapt the method to participants’ age, abilities and needs.

The training does not replace psychotherapy or specialist consultation. It can, however, be an additional form of support for people who want to develop skills for coping with emotions safely.
