Social Skills Training for children and adolescents
Social Skills Training is a group programme for children and adolescents that supports communication, cooperation and building relationships with peers. Participants learn through discussion, play, practical exercises, role-play and team tasks.
Who is it for?
The sessions are for children and adolescents who want to manage interactions with others more effectively, express their needs and emotions, and feel safer in a group. TUS can help when a child has difficulty forming relationships, cooperating, following rules, resolving conflicts, coping with losing or responding in new situations.
What do we practise?
- recognising and naming emotions;
- expressing personal needs and feelings;
- starting and maintaining conversations;
- listening to others and understanding their perspective;
- cooperating, sharing and waiting for one’s turn;
- resolving conflicts and finding compromises;
- assertively expressing an opinion and setting boundaries;
- coping with anger, tension and difficult social situations.
How the sessions are organised
Sessions take place once a week in a stable group and follow a programme adapted to participants’ ages and needs. You can join a programme running from September to June or a summer programme.
Each session lasts 60 minutes. Regular attendance helps children consolidate new skills and use them in everyday relationships.
